How To: Remove The Flame Motor In The Fireplug Pro Series Electric Fireplace

Problem: The flames no longer move and are stationary when the fireplace is turned on.

Solution: Replace the flame motor.


Models Supported:

80070 - Fireplug Pro 24"

80071 - Fireplug Pro 29"

80072 - Fireplug Pro 33"



Tools Required: 

    - Phillips Screwdriver 

    - Scissors/boxcutter


Instructions:

1. Turn Off The Fireplug Pro Fireplace.

2. Remove the glass panel from the fireplace by removing the 2 screws holding the panel in place.


3. Once the glass panel is removed, remove crystal strip at the base of the fireplace.  Remove the 3 screws holding the strip in place and remove the strip from the fireplace.


 4. Remove the downlighting by removing the 2 screws holding the downlighting light strip in place.  The downlighting light strip will then be moved off to the side out of the way when the screws are removed.


5. Remove the control panel.  There are 2 screws holding the control panel in place.  Remove both screws. The control panel will hang.


6. Remove the top bar securing the flame display panel.




7. Remove the flame display panel from the fireplace.



8. Remove the flame panel from the fireplace by removing the 11 screws holding the panel in place.



9. Remove the zip ties holding the flame motor wires in place.



10. Follow the cord coming from the motor to separate it from the rest of the wires.  Then unplug it from the control board.


 


11. Remove the 2 screws securing the flame motor to the firebox.


12. Once the motor has been removed, remove the zip tie securing the flame motor to the flame rod.




 

13. Place the flame rod over the new motor shaft so that the hole in the flame rod connector lines up with the hole in the new motor shaft.




14. Using a zip tie, secure the flame rod to the flame motor shaft and cut the excess piece of zip tie after tightening.




15. Place the end of the flame rod in the flame rod holder.



16.  Re-secure the flame motor to the flame motor bracket and test new motor to make sure it turns.


17. Plug the flame motor back into the control board.


18. Zip tie the flame motor cables so they are out of the way of moving parts.


19. Put the flame panel back in place and re-secure to the firebox.


20. Reinstall the flame display panel.


21. Reinstall the top and bottom display panel brackets




22. Reinstall the control panel.


23. Reinstall the downlighting.

23. Reinstall crystal strip and fireplace media.



24. Reinstall glass panel.
