How to: Troubleshoot the Remote Sensor in the Sideline Elite Series Electric Fireplace

This guide explains how to troubleshoot the Remote Sensor in the Touchstone Sideline Elite Electric fireplace. 


Models Affected: 

  • - 80052 - Forte Elite 40" 

  • - 80042 - Elite 42" 

  • - 80036 - Elite 50" 

  • - 80037 - Elite 60" 

  • - 80038 - Elite 72" 

  • - 80050 - Elite 84" 

  • - 80044 - Elite 100" 


Tools Needed: 

Philips head screwdriver 


Instructions: 

1. Turn Off Sideline Elite Fireplace. 

2. Remove the glass panel from the fireplace by removing the 2 screws holding the panel in place.

3. Once the glass panel is removed, remove the logset/glass crystals and 2 side pieces inside the fireplace opening.

4. Remove the 4 screws holding the bar at the top of the flame display board.

5. Once the bar is removed, remove the flame display board.

6. You should now see the sensor near the center, and the control board on the right side of the fireplace. Make sure the wire is connected tightly to the sensor (unplug/re-plug) the connector.

7. Trace the wire running from the sensor to the control board and inspect the connector. Unplug/re-plug the connector at the board.
