There could be a number of reasons why your Touchstone Home Products Electric Fireplace may turn off shortly after the heat is turned on. The most common reasons are as follows:
1. Front Glass Panel Not Installed Correctly
If the front glass panel is not installed correctly, the heat will be trapped behind the glass panel and overheat the unit, shutting down the unit. Check the glass panel to ensure that the panel is installed correctly.
2. Household Circuit is Overloaded
This can happen when the current draw on your outlet is too high. If you have multiple appliances plugged into the same outlet as your fireplace, try unplugging the other appliances. If it still shuts off, try running your fireplace on a separate outlet that is not inline with the one previously being used.
3. The Heating Element or Fan May Be Defective
If the glass is installed correctly and the circuit is good, the heating element or heater fan may be defective. If this is the case, please call Touchstone Home Products technical support department at 800-215-1990.
